A real highlight of our Taipei trip. The 1934 tea house is stunning, the tea master was warm and generous with knowledge, and brewing our own oolong in a qipao felt special without being touristy. The boba at the end was the perfect finish.

Step into a piece of living history at Xin Fang Chun Tea House, a beautifully restored 1934 tea mansion in Taipei's old Dadaocheng district, once the city's largest tea factory. This half-day experience blends hands-on tea culture, traditional dress-up, and one of Taiwan's most iconic drinks into a single unforgettable visit.
Your host, a trained tea master, walks you through the traditional Taiwanese brewing method step by step, using a professional evaluation cup set so you can taste and compare like a pro. Across the session you sample at least four of Taiwan's signature teas, including Wenshan Baozhong, Alishan Oolong, Dongding Oolong, and Oriental Beauty, paired with traditional tea sweets that balance the tea's aroma and character.
Midway through, slip into traditional dress to wear as you explore the tea house: a qipao (cheongsam) or, for the guys, a classic Zhongshan suit (the Chinese tunic suit) — it isn't just a women's thing. Then wander the heritage mansion's wooden interiors and courtyard for photos that feel plucked from a different era. The outfit is yours for the session and stays at the tea house afterwards; sizes are subject to availability on the day.
The visit winds down with a freshly made cup of boba tea, Taiwan's most beloved export, letting you end on a modern note after an afternoon steeped in tradition. The experience concludes back at Xin Fang Chun Tea House.
Dress-up isn't women-only: guests can pick a qipao or a men's Zhongshan suit. The outfit is worn inside the tea house and stays there afterwards. Sizes are subject to availability on the day — we'll do our best to match you on site.
