Why take the gondola when you can just walk up Maokong! Though the hike isn’t long, the trail goes through a lush forest where you can see an ample number of trees, bamboo, and rivers. The greenery, sights, and sounds definitely should not be missed, and you can reward yourself with green tea ice cream at the top!

5. Huangdidian (皇帝殿)

One of the more difficult hikes on this list, Huangdidian is an incredibly elevated climb that also requires some ladder and rope climbing. However getting up to the top is one of the most rewarding experiences, at it is packed with greenery, peaks, and even small farm houses.
